Procurement & Contract Management Officer - Public Sector ClientRole Overview:

Support Procurement & Contract Managers in delivering efficient procurement and contract management for statutory and non-statutory services, ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Directives and Council regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice and support on procurement and contract management across Council directorates.
  • Lead on low-risk/low-value tenders and support high-risk/high-value procurement.
  • Monitor contract compliance, KPIs, and financial performance, including site visits and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, working closely with internal teams and external providers.
  • Lead commissioning activities for corporate goods/services, conducting market research and developing specifications.
  • Ensure e-procurement catalogues and pricing remain updated.
Essential Criteria:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Procurement/Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in tendering, contract management, and procurement within a statutory organisation.
  • Knowledge of legal terms, risk management, and contract monitoring.

  • No budget or staff management responsibilities.
  • Hybrid working with occasional external meetings.
