Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established construction contractor specializing in a variety of projects across the North West and Midlands. The role offers excellent career progression and the chance to work on high-profile construction projects.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.

  • Support in preparing subcontractor packages, conducting cost analysis, and evaluating tenders.

  • Monitor project costs and ensure cost control procedures are maintained.

  • Assist in compiling and reviewing contractual documentation, including variations and claims.

  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure financial aspects align with project delivery.

  • Work closely with the wider commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.

  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts and reporting to senior management.



Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry (preferably with a main contractor).

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop within the role.

  • Knowledge of relevant construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) is advantageous.
