Head of Service - Social WorkService: Children with disabilities, Multi Agency Childrens Hub (Front Door) and EDTLocation: Kendal, Barrow, Penrith Rate: £450 - £550 day rate

To be responsible for leading, managing and developing effective and high-quality children and young people’s services in line with statutory and legal duties across the council.

To specifically oversee Children with Disabilities Social Work Team and associated Respite homes and Multi Agency Children’s Hub (Front Door) and Emergency Duty Team.

To develop and lead on strategic plans ensuing inspection readiness and progress is clearly evidenced.

To review and monitor the service’s performance, using key performance indicators so that necessary improvements are identified and implemented.

To provide strong visible leadership for the service and ensure the social work model of practice is embedded.

Provide management oversight of complex and high-risk work with children, ensuring legislative and statutory duties are adhered to.

To be responsible for and operate within a delegated budget, regularly monitoring and reporting on· Reporting procedure - Will report to Assistant Director for Childrens and Families.· Any milestones for completion of particular projects
