VAT Accountant

We are seeking a Qualified VAT Accountant to join an established multi-national organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex VAT issues within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VAT compliance and advisory services, and will be instrumental in managing VAT processes and strategies.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and related filings, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Provide expert advice on VAT matters to internal stakeholders, helping to minimise tax liability and ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated with changes in VAT legislation and case law that may impact the organisation.
  • Assist in VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities as required.
  • Review and reconcile VAT accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and implement VAT planning strategies to optimise tax efficiency.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on VAT procedures and updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Extensive experience in VAT accounting, compliance, and advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of UK VAT legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using financial software and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is desirable
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
