Position: Senior Project Planner

Duration: Initial 6 months (with potential for extensions)

Location: Hybrid - Warwick based, on-site 1 day per week

DayRate: Circa* £460 via Umbrella

Our high-profile utilities client are looking to welcome an experienced Senior Project Planner to join their team, supporting a high-visibility, complex portfolio! The individual programme and portfolio activity is already in-flight with a delivery team working to challenging timescales, although the plan is still being developed.

Deliverables:

  • Integrations of 6-7 programme plans into high level portfolio plans.
  • Set up and maintain project structures for smooth execution.
  • Establish, maintain, and control Project Plans with input of SMEs.
  • Manage and track variances and change control once baselined.
  • Create visual reports to support, communicate and socialise to key stakeholders - Reflecting timeline, critical path, RAG, risk, due dates, overdue tasks, etc.
  • Articulate and validate both the process and the plan.
  • Lead energised and productive, well-managed, planning sessions with workstreams and wider stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the project manager on the appropriate planning approach, tools, and processes to be used, based on project requirements.
  • Identify future project capacity and capability needs where possible, and work with wider team to ensure strategies are in place.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of project data and reports.

Skills Required:

  • MSP - Certified Practitioner preferred
  • Experience managing complex programme plans across various planning tools (Microsoft Project, POL, etc). Strong technical MS Project experience is a must.
  • Skilled in creating detailed project plans and high-level milestones to keep projects on track.
  • Be able to support on other PMO tasks where required and have the confidence to lead and run workshops where required.
  • Strong understanding of key project planning principles required, such as Scheduling, Risk Analysis/Assessments, Baseline Management, Critical Path Analysis, Integrated Planning, Dependencies, and Resourcing.
