Hybrid working of 2-3 days working in the office is available. The role:This is an exciting role because the ideal Lead/Principal Hardware & Firmware Engineer will have a strong background in Electronics Design, Firmware Development & Leadership skills. The Lead/Principal Hardware & Firmware Engineer will lead the design and architecture of the technology & products across the full product design lifecycle as well leading and mentoring a highly innovative small team. Key Skills:
  • 7-10+ years industry experience
  • Experience in the full product design lifecycle & management
  • Electronics Circuit Design (analogue, digital, power, rf)
  • PCB Design & Schematic Capture
  • Embedded Software programming in C
  • Experience of Microcontrollers – STM32, ARM Cortex (M0, M3, M4, M7), Microchip PIC
  • Network interfaces - SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, WI-FI, Bluetooth, RF
  • Experience of DFM, DFC & DFT
  • Great teamwork and communications skills
  • Present and previous experience of team leadership, team management, coaching, mentoring & project management
Bonus nice to have skills:
  • Product safety & compliance – EMC/EMI, CE & FCC
  • Experience with battery powered Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices
  • Knowledge & experience of analogue electronics design
  • Experience working in a smaller team and start up environment
