Interim Employee Relations Specialist - 6-9 Month Contrac

Macildowie Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with a respected not-for-profit organisation to recruit an Interim Employee Relations Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ER professional to take on a pivotal role, leading on complex cases and advising on business risk.

About the Role

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will take ownership of ER case management, supporting managers across a range of complex disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance-related matters. You will provide expert guidance to mitigate business risk while ensuring best practice and compliance with employment law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex ER cases, including investigations, hearings, and appeals.

  • Advise and coach managers on employment law, policies, and risk management.

  • Provide strategic input into workforce planning and organisational change.

  • Identify and mitigate employment risks, ensuring compliance and fair practice.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to support change management and develop best-in-class ER processes.

  • Analyse ER trends and provide insights to drive continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a specialist Employee Relations role.

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience leading ER cases.

  • Ability to conduct investigations, lead hearings, and advise on risk.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence.

  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable but not essential.

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
