Home Based

Here at Stonewater, we are on the lookout for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to provide support to the Customer Experience (CX) and Homes directorates and contribute to our strategic theme of managing our resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring we have the financial capacity to deliver our priorities and deliver excellent customer service.

As our Assistant Finance Business Partner, known internally as Financial Reporting Accountant, you will assist in the preparation of the financial results at entity level, including management accounts, quarterly forecast, annual budget and statutory accounts (including relevant notes and providing comprehensive and accurate evidence to auditors as required), providing KPIs and variance analysis in monthly reporting to aid with decision making and drive performance.

Supporting the CX and Homes stakeholders for specific areas of responsibility, such as service charge recoverability, decants and insurance, you will lead on the accounting for surpluses and deficits on variable service charges, including performing monthly and quarterly reviews, providing appropriate analysis and commentary for the management accounts and producing timely and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and reconciliations of various systems interfacing with the finance system.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of Service Charge accounting, ideally in a social housing environment.
  • Have a Business Partnership approach, including using analytical, communication and presentation skills to influence the decision-making process at operational level.
  • Have excellent reconciliation skills.
  • Be a team player, flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Be self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Have knowledge of social housing legislation is preferred
  • Hold a professional finance qualification (or working towards)

Appointment to this role will be subject to satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
