Our client is successful Midlands business who requires some additional support within Finance and is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager who will have responsibility of producing the management accounts whilst also providing support to a small transactional team for c3mnths duration. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Conduct variance analysis with clear commentary and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and support year-end audits.
Team work:
- Support and mentor a small team responsible for transactional finance processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Monitor and allocate workloads to ensure deadlines are consistently met.Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Provide detailed analysis to support budgeting decisions and ensure adherence to budget targets.
- Monitor and improve credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts.
- Maintain oversight of cash flow,
Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure financial operations comply with relevant regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax.
- Act as the key contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate financial results to senior management in a clear and actionable way.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function.
What you'll need:
- Be available immediately or in next few days
- Proven Management Accounting experience plus a strong understanding of accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS).
- Proficiency in financial software ideally Sage or Xero
- Strong communication, team working and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Previous experience in a Senior Management Accountant / Finance Manager role, ideally with oversight of transactional finance.
