Our Client is one of the largest, most ambitious forest restoration projects in the UK. there mission is to create, restore, and protect a 30,000-acre broadleaf forest, improving biodiversity, enhancing natural landscapes, and providing space for communities to connect with nature.

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our dynamic and passionate team to help manage and support our growing finance function, ensuring the efficient use of resources as we expand our operations.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and maintaining the financial health of the organisation. You will work closely with senior management, providing essential financial analysis, reporting, and strategic advice, to support the continued growth and success of the Heart of England Forest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, managing payments, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and manage external audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with charity and tax regulations, and provide advice on financial governance.
  • Analyse financial performance and provide strategic insights to senior leadership.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and donor-funded projects.
  • Support in the development and implementation of financial policies and systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on financial matters.
About You

We are looking for an experienced finance professional with a strong understanding of financial management within a charity or non-profit environment. You will have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to balance financial considerations with the broader goals of the Forest.

Key Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in finance management, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Excel (knowledge of Xero is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for the environment and the work of the Heart of England Forest.
