We are seeking a passionate and skilled Lead Deployment Engineer to spearhead the OT-PAW Refresh Project based in Warwick, UK.About the Role: As a Lead Deployment Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful deployment of over 600 devices by October 2024 as part of this Ofgem-funded initiative. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring that our new technology is seamlessly integrated at substation sites across the UK. Your expertise will not only enhance our operational capabilities but also contribute to the security and efficiency of our energy infrastructure.Key Responsibilities Include: 路 Building and configuring laptops securely at National Grid House, Warwick.路 Deploying laptops across various National Grid substation sites starting October 2024.路 Conducting onsite training and handover sessions for substation engineers.路 Setting up virtual machines and backing up legacy devices.路 Troubleshooting and resolving deployment issues efficiently.路 Overseeing the recovery of outdated laptops and devices.路 Serving as the main point of contact for a small team of deployment engineers.路 Collaborating with different business sections and technical engineers on site.路 Maintaining documentation related to architecture, requirements, and design.路 Conducting testing of End-User Computing (EUC) software and solutions.路 Ensuring compliance with security best practises.What We're Looking For: 路 Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems from early DOS to Windows 11.路 Experience with VMware (Broadcom) Virtual Machines.路 Proficiency in software installation and configuration that interacts with external equipment.路 Understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).路 Experience in laptop imaging, configuration, and deployment.路 Familiarity with Windows Hello for Business.路 Background in security-aware environments.路 Proven track record in large-scale deployments.路 Strong leadership, team management skills, and excellent communication abilities.Candidate Requirements: 路 Demonstrated experience in IT deployment projects.路 Ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.路 Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK for deployments.路 Commutability to Warwick (hybrid working is not accepted).路 High level of integrity, reliability, and a proactive approach.路 Business insurance is required (covered by our client).路 Expenses for travel and accommodation are claimable.Contract Details: 路 Initial 6-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) with likely extension until February 2026.路 Full-time position with site-based work.This is a unique opportunity to lead a national infrastructure project, ensuring secure and efficient deployment of critical OT-PAW devices across the UK.
