Solution Lead HPC/CAE

Our client seeks a dedicated Solution Lead HPC/CAE to join their IT Service Strategy and Demand team in Warwickshire. This role focuses on strategic planning, development, and governance of CAE and HPC solutions across the organisation. It is an ideal role for someone working in engineering who wishes to transition to information technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain CAE and HPC solutions to meet business needs.
  • Analyse current systems, recommend cost-saving improvements, and boost productivity.
  • Evaluate new technologies and collaborate with stakeholders for digital transformation.
  • Monitor the performance of 3rd Party service providers against SLAs.
  • Support and upgrade CAE applications, ensuring compatibility with other software.
  • Collaborate with CAE teams to gather and document requirements.
  • Create domain strategies and roadmaps for CAE and HPC systems.
  • Develop a CAE/HPC Service Catalogue and deploy standards.
  • Automate processes with custom scripts or third-party applications.
  • Ensure business continuity and data protection with the IT Security team.
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, manage design coordination, and provide technical leadership.
Key Requirements:
  • Extensive automotive industry experience with CAE and HPC solutions.
  • Proficient in maintaining and implementing CAE/HPC solutions on Windows and Linux systems.
  • Experience with queuing systems and job submission scripts (e.g., PBS, SGE).
  • Hands-on experience with CAE tools and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to write automation scripts (VBA, Python, Bash/Shell, C++).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Access to the data centre, root & admin access, and knowledge of Unix workstations and HPC/CAE environments is required.
  • Business travel across company sites and occasional travel to suppliers.
  • A full UK driving licence is necessary.
