In short: Business Analyst from an OT (Operational Technology - could be water, gas, electricity, oil, petrochem, pharmaceutical, manufacturing) background required to deliver an Intrusion Detection System upgrade across various operational sites in the UK. There will be a small amount of PM support required for the Lead PM so any project management experience would be ideal.

Purpose:

The OT Cyber Programme operates using a hybrid delivery approach to deliver new products, services and capabilities within the OT cyber security management system. The team aim to support the reduction of systemic and local cyber risk across the OT domain via targeted investment in a number of workstreams which will increase cyber resilience by delivering new products, services and capabilities.

The role partially supports the defined programme of activity within the Security Programme, but also supports an ongoing cadence of BAU change and maturity improvement.The OT Cyber Security Business Analyst is responsible for assessing business needs, converting these into formal business requirements, and producing the documents that will allow the definition, development and implementation of a solution that will meet these needs. They will create and provide input to a range of other project deliverables, and work across the entire development lifecycle.

Key accountabilities:

• Gather, analyse, define, classify and prioritise functional, non-functional and technical requirements and translate into delivery stories.
• Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders
• Identifying and clarifying the current state of the business and identify gaps to close and reach business acceptance.
• Support the PM to define and communicate the desired future state.
• Impact assesses any change-proposals to baselined requirements providing recommendations to programme change control governance.
• Work with the Technical Analyst and Development team to ensure that they understand the specifications.
• Work with training team to document system scenarios and identify roles impacted to help develop a change management/training plan.
• Conduct business process modelling and generate applicable scenarios for the technology functionality testing team.
• Perform basic consulting activities (information gathering, analysis, problem resolution and presentation) in accordance with assignment objectives.
• • Facilitate or Chair meetings with internal and external stakeholders representing the position of the organisation/department/project/service. Facilitate views and opinions of senior staff, peers and representatives from external organisations and produce supporting meeting documentation.
  • Present data in various forms to suit the audience, using graphical and other techniques to large groups to portray the required information, offering supporting narrative as necessary.
  • Identifying and reporting on risks, issues and dependencies
  • Provision of business analysis support to non-business analysis resource undertaking analytical tasks.
  • Perform role of Client Lead on workstreams, typically project managed by Information Technology.

Knowledge / Experience:

• Business Analysis: Expertise with the application of Business Analysis techniques, methods and tools; experience of the implementation of Business Analysis techniques, methods and tools as well as the enhancement of their application
• Business Modelling: In-depth knowledge of business modelling techniques and experience in obtaining input from and communicating modelling results to senior managers for agreement.
• Data Modelling: Experience of establishing and maintaining a data structure using data analysis and data modelling techniques
• Experience of reviewing requirements and specifications, defining test conditions, designing and creating test scripts and mapping back to pre-determined criteria and recording and reporting outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to create unambiguous project artifacts.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management / Consultancy: Experience of using established consulting activities and techniques including facilitating stakeholder groups for eliciting stakeholder requirements.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
