12 Months Fixed Term Contract

We’re now seeking a Smart Homes Project Manager to oversee the delivery of the organisation’s Internet of Things Strategy and the roll-out of Smart Homes infrastructure. Collaborating closely across directorates ensuring all parties are aligned with project timelines and goals, you will lead across all three pillars of our Smart Homes solution:

  • Device installation in customer homes
  • Centralised data platform
  • Enterprise processes and customer communication

The project involves both IT and OT (Operational Technology, such as telematics devices) and requires an understanding of projects involving data-warehousing/analytics and experience of the Microsoft Azure platform. You will oversee the roll out of Smart Homes hardware across Stonewater’s stock, focusing on two workstreams: new build and retrofit and involves on-site attendance at Stonewater homes across England. The project will include significant customer change, including programmes of awareness and engagement. This is a key contract position which will have a high profile throughout the organisation.

Inspecting and facilitating on site delivery/implementation as part of the roll out quality assurance, you’ll support in the development of business cases (if required), develop clear project Terms of Reference for the project team and project stakeholders and create and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project. Working with appropriate department leads and/or 3rd party suppliers, you’ll identify and secure appropriate resources to support successful project delivery, provide appropriate direction and motivation for project resources to accomplish tasks as outlined in delivery plans, manage project budgets in accordance with company financial policies and prepare risk mitigation plans and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a successful track record in delivery of projects and programmes to time, scope and cost, with excellent knowledge of project management standards, processes and principles.
  • Have experience of hands-on distributed technology rollout logistics and planning with experience of IT and OT (Operational Technology) project delivery.
  • Be able to demonstrate major personal contribution to the delivery of projects with material business change, including programmes of end user training and adoption.
  • Have broad experience in programme and portfolio management, including the establishment and operation of PMO functions.
  • Have experience of working in a matrix managed environment.
  • Have in-depth understanding of digital technologies and web platforms, with the technical credibility to command respect from architects and engineers.
  • Have experience of assisting the business understand and manage agile project management.
  • Have experience of financial forecasting and budgetary control.
  • Have highly developed verbal, written, oral and numerical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business including senior management, with experience of presenting to a range of audiences in different formats.
  • Have excellent stakeholder management, able to manage diverse stakeholder expectations at senior levels.
  • Have excellent influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills with strong analytical skills, being comfortable working with data and the use of data for decision-making.
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work under own initiative and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
  • Be able to prioritise workload, agree targets and meet deadlines.

Appointment to this role will be subject to satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
