ROLE - Design EngineerLOCATION - Warwickshire TERM - PermanentSALARY- £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experienceMy client is a manufacturer of specialist products and equipment for a variety of sectors. They’re looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in Warwickshire on a permanent basis.The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience designing for the retail industry
  • Previous experience with Joiner or Metalwork or Plastics 
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
  • Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
  • Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
The Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
  • Producing 3D designs using SolidWorks CAD soft and 2D designs with AutoCAD
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Being involved in final assembly of products
  • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign off
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
