We need a passionate and experienced mental health nurse to work in a well-established team at a Trust in West Midlands.
Description:
Your role will be to act as the key nurse assessing and planning nursing care requirements on a one-to-one basis. You will be the patient advocate, supporting family members and carers to be as involved as required.
- Work in accordance with SWFT Nursing Strategy and contribute to achieving SWFT strategic objectives.
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined patient, taking responsibility for:
- Protecting and supporting the health of an individual patient.
- Assessing care and health education needs.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care.
Skills:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a mental health setting.
- Knowledge and experience of adult safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to restrain patients using approved techniques.
- Handling and appropriately storing patient valuables.
- Ability to deal with emotional and distressing situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Respect for the privacy and dignity of individuals.
- Ability to manage difficult situations.
- Ability to cope with exposure to aggressive behavior.
- Ability to plan own workload.
- Knowledge of Mental Health presentations and appropriate interventions.
- Understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Knowledge of risk management and how to plan care to account for risk.
