PLANNING MANAGER SALARY: UP TO £70K WEST MIDLANDS

This client-side firm is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee a growing portfolio of more than 100 ongoing projects, with values ranging from £5 million to £100 million. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a team and managing critical aspects of their construction portfolio.

About the Role:

  • Lead a team of Planning Engineers to provide line management support and guidance.
  • Develop team of subject matter experts by providing mentoring and coaching in best practice planning, reporting and governance processes and to create best-in class project planning capability.
  • Working directly with the Project Directors and their teams to develop project plans / programmes with key deliverables through all phases of the project (end- to-end).
  • Co-ordinating the planning resources allocated to their specific responsibility theme ensuring programme support is available for delivery on time and to the quality required and recommending optimum planning resource levels.
  • Ensure the customer requirements are achievable whilst establishing timelines for production of quality assured, cost loaded, out-turned deliverable programmes for sanction.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Team Player with a proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Strong ownership mindset, capable of driving results and motivating teams.
  • Previous line management experience is essential, particularly in leading and developing teams.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations and deal with a variety of personalities.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and knowledgeable of NEC contracts.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Must hold a valid driving license and be willing to travel to project sites.
