We are currently seeking a dynamic and ambitious Category Buyer to join a leading procurement team. This role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of an industry-leading procurement function, working closely with category management and marketing teams.
Day-to-day of the role:- Collaborate with the Category Manager to develop and implement category plans that align with business objectives and strategies.
- Manage and enhance supplier product profiles considering market demands and regional differences.
- Analyse product purchases, profitability, and supplier performance, providing benchmarking insights against market and company trends.
- Work with the Marketing team to devise and execute marketing initiatives that support category plans and manage supplier marketing budgets.
- Negotiate and agree on supplier commercial terms including discounts, rebates, and marketing support.
- Lead supplier-related initiatives and provide strategic category insights at the management level.
- Identify and propose new product opportunities within the category.
- Ensure the accuracy of product data in collaboration with the product data team and suppliers.
- At least 5 years of experience in a Procurement role (Buyer, Product Manager or Category Manager).
- Electrical product knowledge is desirable
- Full driving licence
