Are you a recent graduate, or experienced Teaching Assistant, looking to gain experience in Speech and Language Therapy?

LTF Recruitment are currently seeking both speech & language graduates and experienced Teaching Assistants to join the dedicated support staff team of an inclusive 2-form entry Primary School in Kenilworth.

The successful applicant will be working as a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to support children with hearing impairment with the development of their language and communication skills so that they can access learning, develop their social skills and general wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Supporting 1:1 either a child in year five working below age expected level or a child in year two.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes children's engagement, and learning.
  • Implement individualised learning plans and strategies as directed by the class teacher.
  • Assist children with communication development.
  • Support the children in developing social skills and fostering positive peer relationships.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress and behaviours, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.

Who we are looking for:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or relevant equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children with Speech and Language difficulties and Autism.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting individuals with hearing impairment and communication needs
  • Understanding of various alternative communication systems
