We’re supporting our client, a leading family-run manufacturer based in Kentchurch, who are looking for a Maintenance Manager / Supervisor (Mechanical) to join their growing team. The successful Mechanical Supervisor will have previous experience of operating in a medium/ large, automated manufacturing operation within a heavy industry, as well as mechanical qualifications.
Job Summary: As a Maintenance Manager / Supervisor (Mechanical), you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance supervisors, maintenance engineers, site services and project engineers.
Responsibilities for Maintenance Manager:
- Lead a team of Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Engineers, Site Services & Project engineers.
- Assist with the leadership of the site engineering teams to deliver engineering plans/ Production plans, service levels & engineering strategy within quality, safety and cost parameters.
- Implement & deliver the engineering strategy that will develop and drive reliability, improve quality, Safety and asset utilisation via all direct & indirect reports.
- Assist Engineers when required.
- Ensure that plant installations and modifications comply with the latest industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- This Role is 50% Hands on, provide cover for holidays and sickness.
- Coach and develop direct reports. Monitor and improve performance through appraisal, performance management and personal development plans to ensure that their full potential is realised
- Project management/deliver change initiatives
About You:
- Mechanical qualifications (time served apprenticeship).
- 5+Years’ experience of operating in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation within a heavy industry.
- Experience of leading an engineering team.
- IOSH Managing Safely (preferred but not essential)
- Experience of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and stock control systems.
- Experience of working with engineering schedule KPIs.
- Project management and leading/delivering change is desired.
- Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) would be an advantage.
