School Attendance and Student Support Officer- Bromley

Do you have experience working in a school environment as an Attendance Officer or Student Support Officer? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in Orpington, Bromley. This post is 2-3 days per week (Monday & Tuesday).

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and improve student attendance, ensuring compliance with school policies and government regulations.
  • Identify and support students who are at risk of persistent absenteeism.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to promote regular attendance.
  • Provide one-to-one student support, addressing any barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and prepare reports for senior leadership.

Attendance Officer Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Attendance Officer or Student Support Officer within a school environment.
  • A proactive approach to improving attendance and supporting student well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and staff.
  • Knowledge of attendance and safeguarding procedures.
  • A commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
