About the Role:

My client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Engineer to join on a permanent basis to work on a variety of civils projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the project, ensuring the highest standards of engineering are maintained throughout. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure project, working within a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities on site, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on civil engineering aspects of the highways improvement works, including drainage, earthworks, and road construction.
  • Monitor and report on site progress, resolving issues and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records, drawings, and reports in accordance with project requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and ensure that all works are carried out in compliance with relevant legislation and health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the management of subcontractors, ensuring they meet performance standards and deadlines.
  • Ensure effective communication with the project team and other relevant parties throughout the project.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience in a site engineering role, specifically within highways or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of highways construction techniques, design, and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of engineering software and site surveying equipment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid CSCS card (preferred).
  • Full UK driving license (preferred).
