We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Sociology/Criminology to join our Sixth Form campus in Bedford. This part-time, fixed-term role involves helping students develop their skills and reach their maximum potential through effective delivery of courses.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Sociology and Criminology to students aged 16-18.
  • Prepare lesson plans and course materials that reflect the curriculum and the educational needs of the students.
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage and motivate.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and overall performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Stay updated with the latest educational trends and integrate new teaching strategies as appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Sociology, Criminology, or a relevant subject.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • English and Maths qualifications at Level C or above, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching in a Sixth Form or Higher Education environment with 16–18-year-olds.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive learning environment and handle classroom management effectively.
