Our Kettering based client is recruiting a Senior Design Technician/Senior Estimator on a permanent basis to create and complete large Multi Utility quotes in a timely manner based on a weekly priority list making sure to adhere to company processes, procedures and standards to ensure that the Developers' requirements and timescales are achieved.
Main duties/responsibilities
- Responding to email queries and problems applicable to own competency level and escalatingwhere necessary to relevant departmental manager.
- Liaising with colleagues internally and external companies in a professional manner.
- Reviewing asset plans of existing utilities and developers technical drawings.
- Reviewing Electricity Point of connection plans and offer letters.
- Reviewing Water terms and plans.
- Completing Water, Gas and Electricity network studies by using Windebut & Gas Works.
- Producing Multi Utility cost models and proposal letters in a timely manner.
- Taking ownership of large/multi phase development.
- Reviewing and producing re-quotes and variations according to Developer requests.
- Providing regular updates to the Tendering Manager and Business Development Managers tomeet a weekly priority list.
- Reviewing and checking colleagues work.
- Working closley with Business Development managers and attend client meetings.
- Undertake the electronic filing regularly to ensure all correspondence is available and can beeasily found.
Knowledge requirements:
- Previous estimating experience - be able to estimate on your own and train others.
- Understanding of Microsoft office packages including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD would be required.
- Good timekeeping.
- Organised.
- Accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Able to work as a team but also able to work off of your own initiative.
- Team player.
- Good communicator and Listener.
- Able to solve problems.
- Previous experience in an estimating role would be required.
- Experience using AutoCAD would be required at a basic level.
- Previous experience in a Project Management role/environment would be useful.
