The BSA Principal Designer's Role

As a BSA Principal Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act, working closely with clients, designers, and contractors to manage risks and deliver safe, high-quality projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, building control, or CDM consultancy.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing expert BSA Principal Designer services, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Preparing and reviewing CDM documentation, risk assessments, and compliance reports.
Collaborating with clients, designers, and contractors to integrate safety measures from project inception.
Conducting site visits, design reviews, and technical assessments.
Supporting the development of BIM processes within the company.

The BSA Principal Designer

The successful BSA Principal Designer will have a background in construction, preferably with architectural or building control experience.

Essential qualifications and experience:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, or Construction Management.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RIBA, CIAT, CIOB, or APS).
Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and CDM regulations.
Experience in design risk management and compliance.
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise confidently with clients and project teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software is desirable.
