National Business Development Manager (Hybrid)

My client is a fast-growing supplier of high-quality products to the UK commercial construction industry. They are a supplier of market leading brands as well as their own in-house brands. Full training on product range will be offered.

They are now looking for a self-motivated, organised individual with effective communication and negotiation skills who can generate and maintain key accounts. This is a full-time flexible position, likely to be two days per week working from the office in Kettering, and three days in face to face or remote meetings with customers.

Key Role

Our National Business Development Manager will collaborate with the internal sales team to drive new business and strengthen key account relationships. Your primary objective will be to identify and target market opportunities, maximise revenue, and achieve business goals through strategic sales and account management. You will play a crucial role in expanding and growing existing key accounts while fostering long-term customer loyalty. Additionally, you will identify and develop new business opportunities with targeted customers, delivering exceptional service, technical expertise, and value through upselling and cross-selling—all of which contribute to sales growth and the company’s overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively book and attend daily appointments leading to successful negotiations and secured future business.
  • Generate new business opportunities and convert them into long term key accounts.
  • Achieve sales targets set and provide reports to track productivity and performance.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and its key accounts, handling any queries that may arise to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Educate customers on new products and services to maximise their use of what the company offers.
  • Attend monthly sales meetings to update the Director on progress made and plan for the month ahead.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Deliver CPD presentations to our target audience.
  • Complete any face-to-face specification appointments and produce the written specification as per the client’s requirements.
  • From time-to-time complete tasks in addition to those noted above to ensure smooth running of the business.
