Database Administrator - Peterborough - £45,000-£50,000

A growing retail business based in Peterborough are looking for a Database Administrator to join them as they looking to expand their data function. You will be joining the business during a period of significant growth. They have invested heavily into their data team with the aim to fully automate reporting and provide stakeholders with valuable data they need. In this role you will take responsibility for the maintenance and ongoing development of the organisations data estate.

You will work to ensure the optimisation of the organisations databases and will ensure any performance issues are rectified swiftly. You will conduct daily DBA tasks such as backups and restores as well as takes responsibility for the migration of data between sources. This is a pivotal role for the business and you will work closely with analysts to ensure data is delivered in a way suitable for insight creation.

You will work as part of a close-knit, collaborative data team and together you will work to meet the overall data goals of the business. This role is based in Peterborough where you will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis. This is a full-time permanent position paying up to £50,000 depending on experience. There is also a company benefits package which includes generous holiday allowance, a contributory pensions scheme and training programs alongside other benefits.

To be successful in this role you will have.

  • Strong SQL skills for database querying, tuning and optimization
  • Experience with DBA tasks such as backups, restores, disaster recovery planning and database security
  • Experience creating ETL packages and pipelines
  • Database development experience would be beneficial
