As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining automated systems and equipment, including both in-house and third-party products. This includes performing planned maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance site performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of contractual KPIs.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
  • Conduct reactive and preventive maintenance on automated systems and third-party equipment.
  • Ensure automation operates at peak efficiency to prevent disruptions to customer operations.
  • Provide updates during customer meetings regarding system performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on breakdowns and automation issues.
  • Coordinate planned preventive maintenance activities with the customer.
  • Offer mentorship, training, and guidance on best engineering practices.
  • Manage automation breakdowns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Adhere to all current and future health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in an operational engineering role within a similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in time-sensitive situations.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferred experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
