As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining automated systems and equipment, including both in-house and third-party products. This includes performing planned maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance site performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of contractual KPIs.
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Conduct reactive and preventive maintenance on automated systems and third-party equipment.
- Ensure automation operates at peak efficiency to prevent disruptions to customer operations.
- Provide updates during customer meetings regarding system performance.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis on breakdowns and automation issues.
- Coordinate planned preventive maintenance activities with the customer.
- Offer mentorship, training, and guidance on best engineering practices.
- Manage automation breakdowns and escalate issues as necessary.
- Adhere to all current and future health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in an operational engineering role within a similar environment.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively in time-sensitive situations.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
