Gap technical are proud to be representing a market leading engineering business in their search for an Electrical Technician (Panel Building/Wiring)

Job Profile

  • Fitting of electrical components in accordance with engineering drawings.
  • Assembling a wide variety of electrical control panels - components would include PLC's, invertors, sensors, relays busbars, breakers, drives and invertors.
  • Installation and testing of electrical panels and cable assemblies.
  • Commissioning of machines, and factory and site acceptance.


Person Specification

  • Fully qualified BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition).
  • Experience working in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in control and automation.
  • Experience in building / modifying control panels.
  • Knowledge of BS 60204 Electrical equipment of machines / control panels.
  • Experience in fault finding.
  • Experience / knowledge of testing to BS7671.
  • An understanding of Risk Assessment & Method Statements.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings.
  • Flexible working within a team.
  • Adaptability to periodic tight timescales.
