Role: Environmental Health Officer REF 1406187
Contract Length:12 weeks
Location: Work across Council area (Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering and East) supporting the team with a backlog of Inspections.
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £45 per hour


Spinwell is recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER

To inspect/audit and undertake interventions in commercial premises to determine compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation.

To investigate food hygiene and health and safety complaints, infectious or food borne disease, accidents and dangerous occurrences.

To coach, mentor and support compliant businesses.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER

BSc or MSc Degree in Environmental Health or Higher Certificate in Food Control or equivalent.

Registered with EHRB/CIEH

Experience in Health Protection to include food safety, health and safety, infectious disease control and health promotion

Experience of a wide range of enforcement activity

Experience of dealing with members of the public

Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

Able to produce clear and concise and persuasive written reports and letters

Able to demonstrate skills in planning and organising

Ability to work as part of a team and manage own caseload

Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Ability to demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other peoples behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs.

Full driving licence and access to car for work

Willing to attend work outside of normal office hours and to attend evening visits as necessary
