The BSA Principal Designer's RoleAs a BSA Principal Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act, working closely with clients, designers, and contractors to manage risks and deliver safe, high-quality projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, building control, or CDM consultancy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert BSA Principal Designer services, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Preparing and reviewing CDM documentation, risk assessments, and compliance reports.
- Collaborating with clients, designers, and contractors to integrate safety measures from project inception.
- Conducting site visits, design reviews, and technical assessments.
- Supporting the development of BIM processes within the company.
The successful BSA Principal Designer will have a background in construction, preferably with architectural or building control experience.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, or Construction Management.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RIBA, CIAT, CIOB, or APS).
- Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and CDM regulations.
- Experience in design risk management and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise confidently with clients and project teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software is desirable.
- Salary up to £50,000 (depending on experience).
