We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Sociology/Criminology to join our Sixth Form campus in Bedford. This part-time, fixed-term role involves helping students develop their skills and reach their maximum potential through effective delivery of courses.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Sociology and Criminology to students aged 16-18.
- Prepare lesson plans and course materials that reflect the curriculum and the educational needs of the students.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage and motivate.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and overall performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and participate in departmental meetings.
- Stay updated with the latest educational trends and integrate new teaching strategies as appropriate.
- Degree in Sociology, Criminology, or a relevant subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- English and Maths qualifications at Level C or above, or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching in a Sixth Form or Higher Education environment with 16–18-year-olds.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment and handle classroom management effectively.
