Warehouse/DC Team LeaderThrapstonHours - Monday to Friday 0700-1530 (40hrs)Salary - £26 - 30k DOEOur client, a leader in their field, is an American company undergoing a five-year expansion plan throughout the EMEA region. Their multi-channel Distribution Centre in Northamptonshire supports this growth by ensuring efficient and effective order processing across their e-Commerce and B2B platforms.As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in their EMEA Distribution Centre team. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving productivity and efficiency, co-ordinating order processing, picking, and packing, ensuring that every product shipped from their centre meets their high quality and customer satisfaction standards. You will also be a key player in maintaining operational efficiency and site security while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Drive quality, efficiency and productivity throughout the DC Team. leading by example, identifying areas of positive change, cost reduction opportunities and continuously finding solution for removing waste in the operation.
  • Lead daily operations in across all DC functions including, inbound, storage, replenishment, picking, packing and customer added value for both eCommerce and B2B channels.
  • Conduct start, middle, and end-of-day briefings with operatives, setting clear expectations and deliverables, and review performance results.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution Centre Controller to plan resources based on customer demand and ensure efficient allocation.
 Team Development and Culture
  • Foster a strong team culture that aligns with the company’s values and promotes outstanding customer experiences.
  • Support the growth and development of team members, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to staff to drive continuous improvement and high performance.
Quality Assurance and Inventory Management
  • Implement changes to improve processes, reduce errors, and increase efficiency in the Distribution Centre.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes, validating product quality and addressing issues promptly.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure 100% inventory accuracy and effective stock control.
Site Security and Compliance
  • Maintain a secure working environment by following site security protocols and managing opening and closing duties.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, housekeeping, and internal and external communication protocols.
  • Take immediate action to resolve site issues and report incidents to the Distribution Centre Controller or General Manager.
 Performance Reporting
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide updates at weekly management meetings.
  • Analyse operational performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage returns processes, ensuring speed, accuracy, and handling returned items correctly.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a fair and empathetic approach to managing team dynamics.
  • Hands-on experience in multi-channel distribution operations, including eCommerce, B2B, and 3rd party logistics.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, order processing, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using inventory and analytics tools to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations, compliance, and site security protocols.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
