Refuse and Recycling Loaders - Kettering Depot

Opus People Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of our Client, North Northamptonshire Council, for Refuse and Recycling Operatives on an ADHOC basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexibility and daily variety in their work.

Rate: 13.69 per hour

Working Basis: Operate 5 days a week, Mon - Fri, 6:30am-4:30pm. Booked for 4 days per week.

Weekly Hours: Up to 37 hours per week.

Work Location: 4 Robinson Way, Telford Way Industrial Estate, Kettering, Northamptonshire, NN16 8PP

Daily Tasks:

  • Check bins to make sure recycling is done right, following our Contamination and Waste Policy. If you spot contamination, you'll work on monitoring, educating, and enforcing the rules to improve waste management across all streams.
  • Returning bins to the collection point where possible or another safe place within a reasonable distance to the property
  • Emptying wheelie bins, containers and bags into refuse collection vehicle for onward transport and correct disposal point
  • Notifying residents of non-compliance & assisting in recycling education.
  • Litter picking and bag removal.
  • Bulky item collections.
  • Bin delivery.

Requirements:

  • Walk approximately 15 miles a day
  • Complete health and safety training
  • Collect, empty, and return black and green bins daily.
  • Arrive at the Environmental depot at 6.30am.
  • Adhere to North Northamptonshire Council policies and procedures on safety and behaviour in the community.
  • While a driving license is beneficial, it is not essential for the role.
  • Flexibility and the ability to commit to work at short notice are essential.
