Are you a hands-on individual with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintenance? Impact Recruitment are looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our client's Facilities team in Kettering, ensuring the smooth and safe running of our sites and enhancing the experience of both staff and visitors.



About the Role:

As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our client's facilities and ensuring the site is safe, secure and well-kept. You will be responsible for a range of duties including general caretaking, security and facilities management.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of caretaking and DIY tasks to maintain facilities.

  • Open and close the site, ensuring security at all times.

  • Act as a key holder and respond to intruder and fire alarm call-outs.

  • Work a shift pattern, including early starts and late finishes.

  • Conduct routine Health & Safety checks and attend H&S meetings.

  • Drive the company van and maintain pool cars.

  • Carry out occasional heavy lifting.

  • Lead and support the facilities team in line with company policies.

  • Manage maintenance and upkeep of grounds and building exteriors.

  • Oversee facilities contracts and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Conduct regular inspections of sites and grounds.

  • Ensure adequate resources are available at all times.

  • Act as Fire Marshal and train as a first aider.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.

  • A positive, 'can-do' attitude with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Experience building effective relationships across departments.

  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

  • Willingness to train as a first aider.

  • A forklift truck licence (preferred but not essential).
