Role Overview

An experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer is required to join a fire and security company specializing in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems. This role involves working on a variety of commercial and residential sites, ensuring all systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting, and system repairs to ensure continued operation.
  • Carrying out routine inspections and testing in line with industry regulations.
  • Providing excellent customer service and technical support to clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and industry regulations.
  • Completing necessary documentation and reports on system performance.
  • Working independently or as part of a team on installations and maintenance projects.
  • Attending emergency call-outs and providing out-of-hours support when required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of fire and security systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
  • Understanding of BS5839 and other relevant fire and security standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., FIA, IPAF, ECS, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of major security system brands is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
