Individual Needs Assistant (1:1 Support) – KS1

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 student with complex needs at our vibrant primary school in  a beautiful country setting in Hassocks. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a caring and supportive teamn and in an environment that provides inclusivity and kindness.This role requires someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to helping a young learner thrive both academically and socially.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized 1:1 support to a child with complex needs throughout the school day.
- Assist the child with their learning, behaviour management, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals to ensure the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) is followed.
- Help the student engage in classroom activities and social interactions with peers.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to staff and parents as required.
### Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a 1:1 setting.
- A calm and nurturing approach with the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
- - Previous experience in working with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, or physical disabilities, is desirable.
