The Role:

Are you looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, fast-growing company? Our client are seeking a motivated and ambitious Sales Executive to join the team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sales and customer service, looking to develop their skills and progress their career within a thriving business.

Initially an office-based role, you will become an integral part of the sales and customer service structure, managing existing accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. As the business grows, there is potential for the role to evolve into both internal and external sales, with opportunities for UK and potentially international travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Account Management: Take ownership of an existing customer base within an assigned territory, identifying growth opportunities and building long-term relationships.
  • New Business Development: Proactively seek and convert new business opportunities, both within the UK and beyond.
  • Customer Support: Respond to customer queries, providing resolutions autonomously or with the support of the Technical team.
  • Sales Activity: Handle incoming enquiries, raising quotes autonomously up to an agreed value, with larger quotes referred to the Commercial Director.
  • Customer Retention & Reactivation: Focus on re-engaging dormant accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction to drive continued revenue growth.
  • CRM Management: Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using the company’s CRM system.
  • Communication: Ensure smooth communication with customers regarding orders, delivery updates, and any potential issues.
  • Sales Targets: Strive to achieve agreed quote conversion rates and contribute to the overall sales targets of the business.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Undertake any other tasks as reasonably required by the Commercial Director to support the growth and success of the business.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Sales-Focused: A proactive, results-driven individual who thrives in a sales environment and is eager to meet and exceed targets.
  • Excellent Customer Service: Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Technical Understanding: Experience in a technical sales environment is advantageous, but not essential.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer skills. Experience with Sage and CRM systems is desirable.
  • Numeracy & Accuracy: Strong numeracy skills and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Time Management & Organisation: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-Motivation: A driven individual who can work autonomously but also thrives as part of a team.
  • Previous Sales Experience: A proven track record in a sales role, with experience in achieving targets and driving business growth.
Hours of Work:
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00 (with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break)
  • Friday: 08:30 – 16:00 (with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break)
  • Total: 39 hours per week
