The Role

As a Sales Executive your role fits within the existing sales and customer service structure. Initially the role is an office based one, but for the right person it has scope to develop in to an internal and external role within the UK and potentially international travel..

You will provide the point of contact for all existing customers within the given territory, as well as targeted to nurture and develop new opportunities and existing accounts to increase sales revenues.

The role is to be carried out at all times in a professional manner, exercising the highest level of customer service. A fully integrated CRM system is already in practise and as part of your daily tasks you are expected to update and utilise its functions in line with company guidelines. You are required to be pro-active in your approach, and be equally motivated whether working autonomously or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • To take ownership of an existing customer base within an agreed territory and map out scope for growth and development
  • To search out new opportunities
  • Respond to enquiries and raise quotes autonomously up to an agreed value. Enquiries above that will be referred to the Director
  • To respond to and to where possible resolve customer queries either autonomously or with the support of the Technical team
  • To contribute to the growth of the business and re-activate dormant accounts in line with agreed targets
  • To maintain customers sales records and update customer records on the CRM system
  • To maintain the momentum of delivery by communicating as required with customers
  • To maximise opportunities by communicating with customers to ascertain additional potential.
  • To achieve quote conversion rates at an agreed target
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Director in the interest of the business

Skills Required

  • Dynamic, go-getter, hunter-type of character who thrives in a sales environment
  • Excellent and professional customer service and communication skills
  • An understanding of Microsoft Excel and word
  • Good computer skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks in order of importance
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to work smart and to use initiative
  • Excellent time management skills
  • To work with a high level of accuracy
  • Self-motivation with a desire to grow within a role.

Reporting

The role will report directly to the Commercial Director.

Previous Experience Required

  • Worked in a Sales based role
  • Experience using Sage & Customer Relations Manager (CRM) systems is preferred
  • Language skills and working in a technical sales based role would be advantageous
