About the Role:
Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join the team in a Supported Living Service based in Kidderminster. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex needs, including mental health challenges and learning disabilities, particularly among younger adults. As Deputy Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all service users, and supporting the team to deliver person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in overseeing the operation of the supported living service, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with CQC regulations.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of care staff, ensuring effective communication, support, and professional development. Conduct staff appraisals, supervisions, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Ensure that care plans are developed and followed, focusing on the individual needs of each resident, promoting their independence, dignity, and choice.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and adherence to CQC standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment, working closely with colleagues, families, external agencies, and the wider community to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team when working with individuals with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and other complex needs, ensuring person-centred approaches are always followed.
  • Take appropriate action during emergencies, ensuring the safety of all service users and staff, and resolving situations calmly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive knowledge of CQC regulations and experience working within CQC-regulated settings.
  • Experience in Supported Living Services and working with individuals with complex needs, including mental health, learning disabilities, and younger adults.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in managing and supervising care teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with service users, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult or challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Full UK driving license and own vehicle preferred but not essential.
