ROLE PURPOSE

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Electrical Installation to teach and assess across of range of programmes up to level 3 including apprenticeships, T Level and Advanced Technical Diploma, adult and full time students.

Based at their brand new state-of-the-artConstruction and Automotive Green Technology Centre, this is a really exciting time to join our clients organisation and to train the next generation of electricians in the region.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with their curriculum communities of practice and to take part and travel across their organisation to participate inthe our clients construction skills showcases and competitions.

Construction is a key priority area for growth across the region. Over the last 3 years, our clients has seen unprecedented growth across our clients construction curriculum and with that set to continue in their new facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure high quality and inspirational learning and teaching, and a positive experience for the learner.

Maintaining academic standards and motivation and being aware of curriculum developments.

Producing schemes of work and participating in teams connected with course design, assessment and monitoring.

Maintaining high standards of achievement, behaviour, discipline and punctuality.

Involvement in student recruitment, interviewing, induction and pastoral support.

Acting as a course tutor to appropriate student groups.

Carrying out the necessary administrative tasks.

To ensure appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.

Undertaking course leadership responsibilities as required.

Participating in staff development training projects or programmes on subjects relating to teaching and learning,

To work flexibly and carry out additional roles within the organisation as may be agreed from time to time.

Perform duties to a high standard and to ensure that the quality assurance processes are implemented successfully across the organisation, particularly those relating to their own role.

Have a personal responsibility for Health and Safety.

Participate in and make an appropriate contribution to the organisations planning and review processes.

Take a pro-active role in the maintenance of acceptable standards of student behaviour.

Contribute to the development of the Strategic Plan and to the achievement of the objectives contained therein.

Make a full contribution to the Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding agendas.

Keep up-to-date with issues affecting their role and contribute to staff development activity.

Attend external and internal events as required to promote the client.

Comply with the clients financial regulations and standing orders.

Comply with all legislation affecting the organisation and / or the particular job role, and to work in accordance with all our clients policies and procedures.

Participate in any staff review/performance management processes involving the identifying and meeting of training needs for self and others.

Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.

Pursue the achievement and integration of equal opportunities throughout all activities

Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Have a degree or appropriate professional qualification to minimum Level 3

Hold an appropriate teaching qualification or be willing to work towards achieving an appropriate teaching qualification within 2 years of appointment

Level 2 Maths and English or be willing to work towards achieving these within the first year of appointment

Experience of teaching and/or training
