Role Overview:
We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team full-time, five days per week. This is a long-term, temp-to-perm position for the right candidate. You will work closely with a small group of students (12 in total) to support their social, emotional, and educational development in a structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support to students with trauma, autism, and SEMH needs.
* Personal care
* Implement individualized strategies to manage behaviour, foster emotional well-being, and facilitate engagement in learning.
* Support the development of social skills, positive behaviour, and academic progress for each child.
* Assist with personal care and sensory regulation activities, tailoring approaches to meet each student's unique needs.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to monitor and support progress in line with each child's education plan.
* Contribute to a calm, safe, and positive environment, helping students navigate challenges and build resilience.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Previous experience working with children with autism, SEMH needs, and/or trauma-related challenges is essential.
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and autism-specific strategies is highly desirable.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with children who require additional emotional support and patience.
* Team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
* Passionate about making a meaningful impact and motivated to provide a stable, long-term commitment to our students.
Qualifications:
* Relevant experience in a similar role or within an SEN school setting.
* Qualifications in SEN, psychology, or related fields are a plus but not required.
* First Aid training, trauma-informed care, and autism awareness training are advantageous.
