Senior Production Engineer

Location: Kidderminster  


Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum

Working Hours:
- 37-hour working week  
- Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00

About the Role:
Concept Resources is searching for an experienced and driven Senior Production Engineer to join the operations team at a respected engineering company in Kidderminster. This senior role is essential for advancing the company's manufacturing capabilities, driving productivity improvements, and overseeing critical projects to meet expanding business demands. The ideal candidate will lead process optimizations, mentor junior engineers, and drive safety and quality initiatives on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine manufacturing methods, processes, and instructions to meet high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Lead the design and implementation of machine and tooling modifications to maximize output.
- Oversee and deliver large-scale capital projects from initial concept through to implementation.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and other operational challenges.
- Design and develop jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and tooling as required.
- Provide high-level technical support, mentorship, and training to production staff and junior engineers.
- Develop and standardize operating procedures for technical tasks and establish process control documentation.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and comprehensive documentation for ongoing projects.
- Define, implement, and monitor KPIs to track and improve productivity.
- Identify and drive cost-reduction initiatives across production processes.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality team to validate and enhance quality control measures and systems.

Qualifications:
- Essential:

  - HNC/HND or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  - Significant experience in a production manufacturing environment, ideally in a senior or lead engineering role.

Experience:
- Essential:

  - Proven track record in a manufacturing engineering role within a production setting.
  - Extensive experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques, such as value stream mapping, 6S, Kanban, Kaizen, MRL, PFMEA, and SPC.
  - Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment compliant with ISO 9001 standards.
  - Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  - Established experience in a health and safety-focused workplace.
  - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
