The Role:
This multiskilled role requires both electrical and mechanical expertise. The primary goal is to support the continuity of industrial operations through:
- Electrical fault-finding and rapid breakdown resolution.
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, such as PAT, LOLER, and 18th edition standards.
- Completing a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program.
- This is a self-sufficient role with no direct reports, though the Maintenance Engineer will supervise additional support when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Full compliance with safety and legal regulations (LOLER, PAT, etc.).
- Safe installation and operation of industrial machinery and infrastructure.
- Efficient fault-finding, issue resolution, and collaboration with suppliers as needed.
- Execution and continuous improvement of PPM schedules.
- Installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, with rapid fault resolution.
- Collaboration with suppliers for technical support.
- Execution and improvement of mechanical PPM schedules.
Personal Specifications
Qualifications:
- Essential: Electrically qualified for industrial site responsibility (e.g., HNC in Electrical Engineering, City and Guilds).
- Desirable: Multi-skilled industrial qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Desirable: Leadership experience.
- Knowledge of legal compliance requirements for electrical/mechanical engineering.
- Desirable: Familiarity with Lean tools and Continuous Improvement techniques, IT skills (Excel, etc.).
