Role: Skilled Workshop Engineer
Location: Kidderminster
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 42hr work week

Wright Staff Recruitment are currently representing a well-structured and growing company, which develops, manufactures, sells, and maintains Heavy Duty Vehicles. Due to this, they are looking for an Skilled Workshop Engineer to be based at their workshop in Kidderminster.

The main role is to repair specialist bodywork equipment and refuse collection vehicles to a consistently high standard and could include attending to equipment repairs at our customer sites as and when required.

The successful candidate will have mechanical experience ideally from commercial vehicles or plant hire sectors or relevant experience in mechanical fitting & welding repairs. An understanding of basic vehicle/plant electrics and hydraulics would be desirable but not as essential. HGV license and/or HGV experience and welding would be desirable. A willingness to learn and ability to work to time constraints and customers specifications is essential. A full driving licence is essential.

The role:

* Disassembling and assembling body mounted equipment.
* Diagnosis of faults on chassis mounted equipment.
* Carrying out body refurbishment repairs on Refuse Collection vehicles to a high standard.
* MIG welding repairs.
* Ensuring jobs are completed to company standards and instructions.
* Working at customers' and company premises as required.
* Completing all relevant paperwork and or documentation relating to daily work.

Whilst fulfilling the role the successful candidate will be expected to maintain good housekeeping practices and demonstrate responsibility for their personal health and safety and those around them, including risk assessing their own work to ensure safe working practices are being carried out and using Personal Protective Equipment as and when appropriate.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Will be professional and self-motivated with a good customer service ethos and the ability to solve problems alongside a desire to develop and learn.
  • Communication skills are vital for this role, both in dealing with external and internal customers.
  • The ideal candidate must be confident & flexible enough to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills, time management and administration skills are also vital.

Salary will be discussed depending on experience of the individual.
