Skilled Workshop Engineer

Are you a Skilled Workshop Engineer looking for a new challenge? Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Skilled Workshop Engineer to join our client's team in Kidderminster. As a Skilled Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for repairing specialist bodywork equipment and refuse collection vehicles to a high standard. This role may also involve attending to equipment repairs at customer sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disassembling and assembling body-mounted equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults on chassis-mounted equipment.
  • Carrying out body refurbishment repairs on NTM Refuse Collection vehicles.
  • Performing MIG welding repairs.
  • Ensuring jobs are completed to company standards.
  • Working at both customer and company premises.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical experience, ideally from commercial vehicles or plant hire sectors.
  • Relevant experience in mechanical fitting and welding repairs.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle/plant electrics and hydraulics (desirable).
  • HGV license and/or HGV experience in welding (desirable).
  • Full UK driving license (essential).
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work to time constraints and customer specifications.
