About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant with experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our vibrant primary school in Birmingham. You will play a key role in supporting our pupils, ensuring they have the opportunity to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in their day-to-day learning, providing one-on-one and small group assistance.

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored education plans to meet the needs of SEND pupils.

  • Foster a nurturing, supportive, and safe classroom environment.

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, communicating effectively with teaching staff and parents.

  • Encourage independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction among pupils.

  • Support the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and academic progress.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEND-specific qualifications).

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a primary school setting.

  • Additional training in specific SEND areas (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language).
