About the Role?

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the diagnosis and maintenance of all mechanical components and machinery. Responsibilities will include:

  • Disassembling and assembling body-mounted equipment.
  • Diagnosis of faults on chassis-mounted equipment.
  • Carrying out body refurbishment repairs on vehicles to a high standard.
  • Mig welding repairs.
  • Ensuring jobs are completed to company standards and instructions.
  • Working at customers’ and company premises as required.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and documentation relating to daily work.

About You To be considered for this Mechanical Fitter role, you should have/be the following:

  • Mechanical experience ideally from commercial vehicles or plant hire sectors or relevant experience in mechanical fitting & welding repairs.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle/plant electrics and hydraulics (desirable but not essential).
  • HGV license and/or HGV experience and welding (desirable).
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work to time constraints and customer specifications.
  • Full driving license.
  • Ability to solve problems and a desire to develop and learn.
  • Strong communication skills for dealing with external and internal customers.
  • Confidence and flexibility to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills, time management, and administration skills.
