About the Role?
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the diagnosis and maintenance of all mechanical components and machinery. Responsibilities will include:
- Disassembling and assembling body-mounted equipment.
- Diagnosis of faults on chassis-mounted equipment.
- Carrying out body refurbishment repairs on vehicles to a high standard.
- Mig welding repairs.
- Ensuring jobs are completed to company standards and instructions.
- Working at customers’ and company premises as required.
- Completing all relevant paperwork and documentation relating to daily work.
About You To be considered for this Mechanical Fitter role, you should have/be the following:
- Mechanical experience ideally from commercial vehicles or plant hire sectors or relevant experience in mechanical fitting & welding repairs.
- Understanding of basic vehicle/plant electrics and hydraulics (desirable but not essential).
- HGV license and/or HGV experience and welding (desirable).
- Willingness to learn and ability to work to time constraints and customer specifications.
- Full driving license.
- Ability to solve problems and a desire to develop and learn.
- Strong communication skills for dealing with external and internal customers.
- Confidence and flexibility to work alone and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills, time management, and administration skills.
