  • The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, analysis, and supporting the offshore R2R team.

Due to expansion, a global technology company based in South Oxfordshire is currently recruiting for a permanent qualified Financial Accountant.?

The successful candidate will be an integral part of their finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and supporting the business with critical financial insights, and providing oversight and support to their offshore Record To Report (R2R) team.

The role will be reporting to the Head of Group Reporting and will be a stand-alone position with no line management responsibilities.

Key Duties:

  • Month-End Closing:
    • Prepare and post complex journal entries, with review and approval of standard journals produced by the R2R team.
    • Review and analyse balance sheet, including quality review of balance sheet reconciliations produced and approved by the R2R team.
    • Review and analyse P&L statements.
    • Ensure all month-end processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
    • Support the preparation of statutory accounts (including half year interim reporting) and annual audit process.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
    • Monitor and report on variances against budget/forecast.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Prepare cash flow forecasts.
    • Manage day-to-day cash flow to ensure liquidity.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Assist with VAT returns and other tax compliance activities.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct variance analysis to support business decisions.
    • Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

 Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 1 year post qualification experience.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the IT services sector or education market is a plus.
